Carl's pictures are colourful, vibrant and sometimes startling on first viewing. They're worth a second look; you're drawn into them. You suddenly see their subtlety and emotion. He draws on his life as inspiration - daily activities, family, friends and people around him, events and places. His powerful work "Lines" is his response to the 2006/2007 bushfires which raged for 6 weeks in Victoria's High Country. He has won several major regional art prizes in open competition.
